ASTRA

ASTRA, an acronym formed from

Ability, Service, Training, Responsibility and Achievement

is the name for youth groups sponsored by Altrusa clubs as part of their program of community service. ASTRA clubs are composed of young people between the ages of 12 and 25.

Goals of ASTRA are:

a. Provide opportunities for personal development, career planning and preparation, leadership training, and citizenship development
b. Foster the concept of service through practical application in school and community.
c. Sponsor social and cultural activities
d. Promote fellowship and better understanding among all people

The Altrusa Club of Troy currently sponsors three ASTRA Clubs (Troy High School, Tipp City High School and Miami East High School)
